My husband is deeply passionate about the Cub Scouts. He could not wait until our 2nd child (first son) was in first grade so that he could start him up in Cub Scouts and be there right by his side. I thought that sounded great — Cub Scouts seemed like a really neat way for the two of them to spend time together, learn some great stuff, and go on fun field trips! I wasn’t in Girl Scouts, so I really had no idea what they were going to be doing, or what the Scouts were really all about. Let me tell you, our son LOVES it!! But, his dad may love it even more!! He dove head first into helping with everything he could, and he has even earned a big leadership award (SO proud of him)! He is the leader of a Den… or Pack… or both… I still don’t know all of their lingo. I had no idea how intense the Pinewood Derby race could be. I had no idea you could earn so many beads and patches. But those boys are learning tremendously great life lessons and morals and values and I love it! We planted a tree on their school grounds to celebrate the Boy Scouts 100th Birthday a few weeks ago. Soon it will have a plaque and hopefully the tree will be growing for generations to see. And my sweet guy and his awesome dad helped plant it.

When I came home from our beautiful evening photo shoot and began to look at the images we were able to capture of this cute little sweet pea, this one immediately caught my eye and just made me giggle with delight!! She wanted to do everything else except sit in the tiny chair, and at this point, it definitely seemed she was trying to hide behind it! Could she be any more adorable?? And believe me, she shared so many more charming pieces of her personality that I will be posting soon!!

warm and snuggly {fresno clovis child portrait photographer}
March 15, 2010
Never a dull moment with a three year old. Especially when the three year old is a boy, right? I’ve realized the look here on my son’s face is prevalent in about 80% of the photos I take of him… and yes, his mouth is wide open because he is making some kind of loud noise!
Our kids have always liked to bundle up with us on a Saturday morning in our bed, but now with them getting older, it seems it turns into a tickle fest or a throw-everyone-off-the-bed fest… but whatever it is, I think we will all treasure those snuggly memories! These quilts that my kids are wrapped up in here also hold many memories — most of them are made by hand by my grandmother and some are quite old. All the better to bundle up with
.
Lots of talented photographers are showing their bundled up moments at i heart faces, so please go take a look!

spring goodness {fresno clovis photographer}
March 11, 2010
I do have to say that I love spring California sunshine. This time of year back in my hometown is still very cold, and occasionally there is even still snow on the ground. Standing outside in early spring when the sun is shining and the wind isn’t blowing and feeling that bright warmth hit your face is just yummy!! It’s like a cup of coffee (or soothing hot tea in my case
) for the soul…

Both my hubby and I were not involved in any uniform groups. My eldest was briefly a Brownie (like a Girl Scout) but she quit, because she felt uncomfortable with all the activities that required her to go door to door (do jobs, sell cookies, etc). Maybe we will have another shot with Narelle.
