accessorizing with flare… {fresno clovis child photographer}
March 13, 2011
Sun flare can make for some AMAZING photography images. I have had fun playing around with sunlight and the affects it can make on an image, but I still have so much to learn and practice — which makes me excited! Love experimenting with my camera
. This week’s I Heart Faces sun flare theme gave me an excuse to get out and do that! I have one of my favorite photos ever that I took about 9 years ago of my daughter — it was taken with film, and it is of her dancing in our backyard. Then I had no idea about sun flare or how to use it to my benefit, but I was completely giddy when I got my prints back from that roll and found the gorgeous photo of her holding her sweet little tutu and this perfect sun flare appearing next to her face! I will have to post it sometime… but for now, I’m sharing this one. Same sweet girl, but a little older… We played around with the sunlight this weekend and this is our favorite from our little shoot — the flare is subtle, but pretty just the same
.
Can’t wait to go see all the other entries and see all the flare! You should go be inspired, too: click here!

So I may be a little biased, but this girl is gorgeous. We had a little fun (well, I had a lot of fun… my kids would say otherwise…) out in the last of the evening sun last night. We were trying not to make it obvious that she has a huge cast on her broken arm… she hid it well
. And even looked amazing in the process.

Lovely, tangie! I toootally could not tell that she had a cast…she did an awesome job at hiding it.
Soft light is so scrumptious, don’t you think??

anything but a face {i heart faces}
February 28, 2011
Things have been a little out of the norm around here, and I have not entered anything at I Heart Faces in so long… I keep looking at the themes (and the amazing judges!!) and wanting to join in, but before I would know it, it would be Wednesday, and I would not have created or posted any kind of entry… So, today when I found myself actually sitting at my computer for a minute, I thought, “By golly, I am going to make an entry. I am sick of missing out on the fun.” Plus, its my birthday. Who doesn’t want to add fun to their birthday??
So, this is by no means unique… kind of something you have probably seen quite often… but it still stirs something up inside me. My daughter tells me she loves the colors. I do, too
.
I’m sure there are so many creative images at I Heart Faces and I can’t wait to look at them all!!

Goodness. I feel like I have been in outerspace for awhile… OK, so my brain probably has been… Between my dad visiting from out of state
, my boys being sick, my daughter breaking her wrist, and some major life changes going on at our house, I have not gotten around to posting much… But I’ve got a good one to share to break myself back into the game
…
Ohhhh, how precious. Tiny gift straight from the Creator. Baby Nathan, I love all your wrinkles and tiny toes! Thank you for letting me capture them because you are changing so fast! You have a super big brother and awesome Mom and Dad — you are blessed, and they are blessed by you!!
