wshew!! the days have been flying by with all the hoopla and celebration (and still one more holiday to go!!) and i realized i have not blogged anyone recently… so i figured i had better get busy!! so, forget a bunch of writing business… i’m just gonna give ya the basics and post the goodness!
i grabbed up my sister’s family for a quick-session-in-between-sessions awhile back. so fun to be close to them again so we can do this! love you guys!

Little K Man was sure full of energy on the day of our shoot. So we walked around the pond, found sticks, chased bugs, jumped through bubbles, slid down the big red slide, and even got snuggles from Grandma. So, that sounds like a great day to me! And I would definitely need some nuggets and a nap after all that. For sure.
What is with those dimples and eyelashes?? Look out world.

Hands are intriguing to me. I kind of catch myself staring at my husband’s hands a lot. They make me feel protected, comforted, and loved. We’ve been married almost 20 (twenty?!?!) years and I still get warm fuzzies when he gently holds my hand when we are walking or just watching tv. I also adore my children’s hands. I still make my 5 year old hold my hand when we cross the street. Not because I don’t think he has learned how to do it carefully, but mostly because it gives me an excuse to have him right next to me and reach out for my hand 
.
Chubby little toddler hands are just some of the best. Love that this little sweetie decided to play peek-a-boo just when I snapped the shutter. Perfect .

making excuses {downers grove child photographer}

I love having an excuse to do something fun and creative. Not that I couldn’t just do it without an excuse, but you know, sometimes I feel a little guilty doing things I enjoy creatively just for fun or just for me when there are 329 other things that always NEED to be done… So when I have a reason to go play, it makes it even more fun, right? Like doing our Christmas card every year. We HAVE to have a Christmas card, so I NEED to take the time to make them, right?? I love coming up with an idea, taking hours to get the right image (not literally hours, but my kids think so…), creating the card, seeing it in print, and sharing it through the mail with friends and family. Moving was a great excuse for me to get my kids in front of the camera and think of something interesting for a new address announcement. I like what we got .
And speaking of Christmas cards, I not only love to do our family card, but I would LOVE to help your family have beautiful cards, too! Let me know if you would like to schedule a family session so we can create lovely cards for you to send to friends and family this holiday season! There are some spots open during September and October for sessions. I will be posting card options for this year soon!
