Miss E had a gorgeous birthday party last weekend. Her mom made beautiful decorations and there were flowers, a fabulous cake and a traditional doljabi ceremony. Here is a little sneak peek of the fun… more to come later!
Summer has come and gone at our house, but the memories remain. We started a new thing that I hope quickly turns into a tradition. We have a tiny little home, so it has been a bit difficult to have guests over for meals to get to know them better and just hang out in our new neighborhood. So we tried getting a little creative and decided to show a movie outside in our backyard. Complete with a popcorn bar and lots of neighbors, we watched a family friendly movie under the stars. We hope to try it one more time before the winter chill blows in.
When we lived in California, it was pretty much impossible to throw any kind of get together at our house with a bunch of our family. Many of them came to visit us, but not all at once of course, so the fact that our daughter was graduating from middle school gave me a great excuse to throw a little party and invite our family to come to our home! We still live a couple hours away from most of them, and end of school schedules are so full, but a few of them were able to come, so we celebrated a milestone and I had way too much fun using my daughter’s favorite colors, aqua and red, to put together a dinner with a little vintage taste ;).
My man served up some yummy shredded beef to our guests, and we also had roasted potatoes, strawberries, watermelon, strawberry lemonade, gluten free vanilla cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes (both with homemade buttercream frosting 😉 ), and angel food cake. YUM.
She waited until the end of the party to get ready and come out in her beautiful sparkly dress with her matching pale pink Converse 😉 She has grown up to be such a gorgeous girl, on the inside and the outside.

We added another double digit child to our house. Wow. How is that possible?? This guy is so handsome (I’m not biased or anything), and I think one of his all time favorite things to do is make people laugh. Combo of those 2 = quite a charmer ;-). He faced the challenge of making new friends at his new school with no problem. Keep laughing, bud! Your tender heart and kind smile lights up a room… never let that go.
We celebrated with ice cream one day, then a little bowling and cake another day. Its fun to stretch out birthdays as much as you can. Especially when you turn 10.
