blue silhouette {fresno clovis child portrait photographer}
November 15, 2010
I do not have anything original to post for the I Heart Faces contest this week, but I thought it was funny that I was just looking at this image the other day and then saw last night that the theme this week is silhouettes. It is dear to my heart – it is from a trip we took to Oceanside and it was absolutely one of my favorite vacations ever. We spent a few days at Disneyland — and surprised the kids
— and then spent a week at the beach relaxing. Perfect combo. I hope we can repeat it someday. This image makes me all sentimental, because it was awesome, treasured family time, but also because it was the last trip we took before my mom passed away. I remember talking to her on the phone when we got back and telling her how we were going to do that trip again, and next time she was coming with us. She would have loved it.
There are amazingly cool silhouettes at I Heart Faces, so be sure to go peek!!

This is my gorgeous niece. I don’t get to see her very often since her family lives on one side of the US and we live on the complete opposite side, but each time I see her, I promise you she is more and more beautiful… If you met her, she would ask you 129 questions and tell you the most amazing stories, or sing some G Love, whichever was her mood that day. You can’t see her stunning eyes here, but I love the way her perfect lips are peeking out from under her hat. Miss you, sweet girl!!

She looks like a beauty, even under that hat. Amazing what you’re able to do in full sun, Tangie!

i heart faces : beach fun
August 24, 2010

I was so excited to see this week’s theme. I have what I think is my all time favorite photo, and it is of my 2 kiddos on the beach. It is an old photo… so old I was still shooting film… This one was taken on black and white film so I scanned it in to put it here. I got several great shots in a series that day on Lake Michigan (funny to me that my favorite beach photo is from Lake Michigan, even though we now live in California and have visited many beaches…), and they just make me all giddy inside everytime I look at them
… except that our youngest little guy wasn’t here yet!! I really want to re-create this with all 3 of our sweeties someday…
Who doesn’t have fun on the beach?? All the other entries are sure to bring warm memories of beach trips… please go see at least a few at I Heart Faces!
