Month: January, 2011
While we were back in Illinois, we took some family photos. We were able to use this awesome warehouse (thank you, Matt!!!), and after the kids chased each other through the boxes and dust, we got them settled down enough (who wants a Pringle?) to line them up and capture their ages and cuteness at the current moment… the quickly passing moment… I am so glad to have these treasured images of my family ;-).
We got to go to Illinois for a couple of weeks to celebrate Christmas with our family. Its so great that my husband’s family and my family only live about an hour and a half apart, so we can see all of them when we make the trek back. We were able to take the train there (which was a great memory, but I was thinking towards the end that I was really glad we were flying back home…), and when we stepped off of the train, the most beautiful, huge, soft snowflakes were falling… just for us ;-). That’s what I told the kids anyway. It was just enough to enjoy and play in for a couple of days, and then it warmed up — to a balmy 60 degrees! I think Uncle Ben was the hit of the party with some of our nieces and nephews — one niece was asked what her favorite present was and she replied, “Uncle Ben.” They hadn’t seen him in over two years, and he is a tall, loud, extremely fun teddy bear. Or crazy bouncy toy ;-). I just loved hugging on all of them and taking every moment in. Time with loved ones is so precious. It goes way too fast.
Isn’t this gorgeous?? My mother-in-law hand beaded the whole thing…
If you look closely, you can see my reflection ;-)…
And on to the new year… I think its going to be full of crazy new beginnings… and lots of love ;-).
I’m a little late in my holiday wishes, but I have been out of state for 2 weeks enjoying some wonderful time with family and friends whom we have not seen for 2 years. Such a blessing… It was a great trip, except for the travel part got a bit sticky… maybe I will post a bit about that some other day. I did want to post our Christmas card and say thank you for a fabulous 2010 and I hope all of you have an amazing 2011!!
